Safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding children and adults in our care

Back to home

We are absolutely committed to safeguarding the young people and vulnerable adults in our care. We also work to safeguard  our staff and any other adults attending our setting. We have robust systems in place to support our belief that safeguarding should be at the core of everything we do. Our work is  underpinned by the latest Keeping Children Safe in Education Guidance, as well as our Safeguarding Policy.

Woodventurers has two DSLs – Toni Rogers (07803364278) and Nicki Proietti (07519440420)

Frequently asked questions:

How do you ensure your staff meet the requirements for working with vulnerable children and adults?

All our staff are qualified practitioners and all hold  an enhanced DBS certificate which is registered on the government DBS update service. We meet all safer recruitment requirements (see our safer recruitment policy here) when hiring and do the appropriate background checks.  All staff who interview candidates are required to complete a safer recruitment training course.

Do your staff have safeguarding training?

All staff must hold an up to date safeguarding certificate and have attended Prevent training. We use the Cambridgeshire County Council safeguarding training which is tailored for AP’s, as well as offering additional safeguarding courses for staff to complete. Staff also attend in house safeguarding training which always includes annual KCSIE updates and any changes in the local picture. Our in house newsletters share any pertinent updates and changes as they arise.
